The rumors are true.

After 5 long years, Mike, Lars and Yvette went back to a bar one day and agreed to revive for one night the event that put “social” back in social media – BUZZCATION.

It took a simple email from a colleague to ask if a “comeback” to benefit a worthy cause could get the band back together again. The response was a resounding YES! And now the Buzzcation team is partnering with The Sauce Foundation to host a reunion event on Aug. 2 to honor Mike Saucier, an accomplished journalist and PR pro, an incredible husband, father, friend and colleague.

Mike lost his fight with pancreatic cancer last year. He, too was a Buzzcationer and attended a couple of events to forge new connections when he and his wife, Fernanda, moved to Phoenix. It didn’t take long for Mike to make an impact in our closed-knit journalism and communications community. That is why, in his honor, we hope to bring everyone back – the OGs and the newbie Buzzcationers – to enjoy the company of long-time friends and new ones, to imbibe in refreshing cocktails, munch on delectable food, take home awesome raffle prizes, and more importantly, help The Sauce Foundation raise funds for Mike Saucier Memorial Scholarship at the Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications and increase awareness of the dreadful disease that took his life.

It’s been five years, and we know that many of you have a lot to share and a lot to celebrate. So let’s celebrate all the “grown-up” things we experienced and accomplished in the last five, share the good vibes and celebrate a fellow Buzzcationer’s life.
